The river is very healthy actually. The oxygen levels are at 7.5 and the nitrogen and phosphorus levels are healthy as well. The water is a bit murky, but it is actually less murky after the treatment plant. The water is clearer after the GOLDBAR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT. River watch student 14/06/2005

I'm looking at the river right now, and it looks GREAT! Unfortunatly, looks aren't everything. I agrre with Daryl, we don't really care, but we soooooo should!!! How will this water look, be treated and how healthy will it be in 10, 20,....30 years? Think about it... is it really worth it to make some stupid mistakes now just to save time and a little money and in 30 years have to spend TONS of money and time to TRY and fix the water??? Think about it! Is it worth it?! Bree....., Edmonton, Alberta 12/02/2002

No it doesn't! That's why we treat it before we consume it; to make it fit to drink. It's sad but true, but we don't really worry about the quality of the water after it leaves our city. Sorry Devon! Dylan Mackowetzky 24/10/2001

chemically the river is safe for recreation, yet the velosity is too high to be considered safe. Science 10AP 17/10/2001
